VIX hasn't seen much action this year but has been holding the trendline on the weekly. This trendline can, and likely will, produce a pop though this may not occur until early next year. Weekly
We might see some activity in VIX in the next few weeks, but nothing major. Early in the next year looks better for volatility and can produce a better pop off this trendline.
Ultimately the trend from last year is still down for volatility. Look for some countertrend pops until this has finally bottomed.
VIX is seeing some support from this trendline and that support is building.
